The Chemical Science Division is partnering with the College of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB), for a third year of the “CSD UP” (Chemical Sciences Division Undergraduate Program) for transfer students.
This 8-week program offers a $4000 fellowship for undergraduate students, who transfer to the UCB College of Chemistry in 2020 and who are interested in a research internship at LBNL. The College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley will provide $2500, while each LBNL PI who hosts a student will provide $1500.
2021 CSD UP PI’s & Projects
Eligibility & Program Capacity
The program can currently support 10 students. UC Berkeley transfer students who have accepted the campus offer are eligible to apply. Acceptance to the CSD UP will be on a first come first serve basis. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as they have accepted the campus offer.
Students will be requested to rank their preference for 3 projects and will be assigned to the project that best meets their preference.
Where the opportunity exists and the partnership (or collaboration) is a good match with the research group, the student may stay beyond the 8-week period and work for the entire year with the PI, for course credit.
